Environmental Action Alert: Marin Countywide Plan [Updated: 2/21/2007]

Help Create A Green Marin Countywide Plan!

Today we have a great opportunity to protect Marin’s beautiful rolling hills, wetlands and shoreline. Plus, we can also guarantee clean energy and environmental public transit solutions as well. But, to make this happen the Marin County Planning Commission needs to hear from you that the Marin Countywide Plan must protect our environment. This plan will guide development in Marin County for the next 10 years.

The Sierra Club and Campaign for Marin are working for improvements in the Plan, including better policies to preserve natural resources, especially creeks and watersheds and the Bay Shore; protect agriculture and open space; decrease the rate of additional traffic caused by development; and go green (sustainable building standards).

You can help. Write to the Planning Commission to ask them to implement the Sierra Club’s suggestions. Or go to a hearing. The calendar is posted on the Marin County web site

Dear Marin County Planning Commissioners,

I support preserving the greenest Marin possible in the Countywide Plan. Creeks and wetlands, green building, the Bay Shore and our agricultural heritage are my top priorities.
