Welcome to the Sierra Club Car Camping Website
and Another Great Year for Camping!
General Information: Please read this information if you are planning to attend one of our trips. Participants will be
responsible for their own camping and hiking equipment as well as their personal belongings. There will be hiking
opportunities planned for each trip.
All trips will have a food coordinator who will assign participants to teams of 2 or 3 people who will buy, prepare, and
serve either a breakfast or dinner for the group. If there are enough participants,appetizers and desserts will also be
assigned. Food costs average about $30 per person.
Coffee will be provided. Participants bring their own lunch and other beverages. Everyone helps in the meal clean-up and
other campground housekeeping chores.
Cut off time for reservations will be one week before the beginning of the trip.
Send your reservation fee - payable to Sierra Club Car Camping - to the trip leader. Be sure to include your address,
phone number and email address. A two week cancellation notice is required for full refund.
The food coordinator will call you to discuss food assignments about one week before the trip. The trip leader will email
you names of all participants and the driving directions.
Participants must provide their own transportation to and from the park. Carpooling is encouraged. No dogs or children
under 21 are allowed.

2008 Car Camping/Day Hiking Trips
| Calaveras Big Trees State Park June 29 - July 2, Sunday - Wednesday
This is one of our favorite parks located near Arnold. Come enjoy camping amongst beautiful giant sequoias. Day hikes
will be planned.

| Bucks Lake Wilderness (near Quincy) August 18 - 22 (four nights)
Bucks Lake Wilderness is located at the northern end of the Sierra Nevada Range in the Plumas
National Forest about 40 miles NE of Oroville. The Pacific Crest trail bisects the Wilderness. We will be staying at
the Hutchins group camp which is located halfway between Bucks Lake and Lower Bucks Lake.
Hiking, swimming, fishing, boating and just "hanging out" are all available. The altitude is 5200 ft. Before signing up
please read the info at the top. Please send $35 and include your email address or SASE (self addressed stamped envelope)

| Salt Point State Park September 11 - September 14, Thursday - Sunday
Rocky promontories, panoramic views, kelp-dotted coves, and the dramatic sounds of pounding surf;
open grasslands, forested hills, pristine prairies, and pygmy forests - you can experience all of these coastal wonders
within the Salt Point State Park.
The park is located just north of Jenner on Hwy 1.
Day hikes will be planned.
